NEW FILMMAKERS' FORUM (NFF)
(all films, events and guests are subject to change)
Sundance
Channel New Filmmakers Forum
(NFF)
Curated by Roberta Lautenschlager
This
juried competition includes five movies from first-time filmmakers, a trio of
films by NFF jurors or guests, a coffee with the directors, and three seminars
(on shorts filmmaking, the state of American independent cinema, and film
criticism). A cash prize of $1,000 is presented to the winning NFF filmmaker.
The New Filmmakers Forum is dedicated to providing an environment for guest filmmakers to network with their peers, to share their vision with St. Louis audiences and to be encouraged in their professional journey.
Five films by first time directors have been chosen to compete for a grand prize (cash plus film stock). The five directors chosen will attend as Festival guests and participate in Q & A discussions, industry panels, and coffee with the filmmakers sessions.
The panels, led by special Festival industry guests, will deal
with the different areas of filmmaking (screenwriting, documentary), as well
as look at the issues facing the independent filmmaker today (digital video,
marketing & distribution). The
NFF weekend provides an open, creative environment with many
opportunities to network with other filmmakers from around the country.
Cinema St. Louis would like to thank Roberta "Bobbie" Lautenschlager, Curator of the New Filmmakers Forum, for her endless support and all of the hard work that she put into making the New Filmmakers Forum such a success.
Travel packages are available for groups and individuals to attend the NFF weekend. For more information, call Andrea at .
